Traveling to an intensive workshop is both a disruption and an augmentation of one's life. Leaving home, family and routine reaching toward an unknown adventure. Movement Fundamentals Coalescence 2014
Intensity, new information, meeting people from other places and backgrounds, exploring common ideas and allowing space for differences, missing people and pets left behind, one's own bed and familiar foods and routines. Learning about self and others, expanding in a sheltered setting.
Traveling home - back to the familiar which is now unfamiliar; looking at old routines with new eyes, or at least from a different angle; now missing new friends and new routines; wanting to integrate the changes and expansion experienced into the old life.
Realizing the old life will be changed, no longer quite as familiar/comfortable as it was; but it's already been changed - first by absence, then by return, and yet again by the intention to keep exploring and living though the process lived/learned/embraced during the workshop.
Seeing ordinary routines from a different point of view, allowing realization of where and when they were taken for granted before, knowing this will happen again. Giving permission to make this choice and knowing the tools to make different choices are always available. Opening to a continuing unfolding through conscious choice.
